Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights Champions Liberia is a legally registered organization promoting strategic policy advocacy, community-led awareness, research, and capacity strengthening to advance sexual and reproductive health and rights in Liberia.
Who We Are
The Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights Champions Liberia (SRHRCL) works to engage policymakers, strengthen evidence-based decision-making, and promote policy actions that protect health, dignity, choice, and bodily autonomy.
We focus on empowering communities, particularly women, girls, and marginalized groups, to demand accountability and influence policies that reflect their lived realities.
Through partnerships, advocacy campaigns, and participatory research, SRHRCL addresses systemic barriers including gender inequality, harmful practices, and limited access to quality health services.
Historical Background
Since 2019, SRHR Champions-Liberia has operated as a social justice movement leading critical national-level policy advocacy and mass sit-in actions that contributed to significant policy reforms in Liberia.
Presidential Declaration of Rape as a National Emergency
Contributed to advocacy efforts that supported urgent national attention to rape and sexual violence in Liberia.
US$1.5 Million Allocation to Combat SGBV
Supported advocacy that contributed to the Government’s allocation of resources to combat sexual and gender-based violence.
Passage of the Domestic Violence Act
Engaged in policy advocacy connected to legal protection and accountability for survivors of domestic violence.
Advancement of the FGM Bill of Liberia
Promoted advocacy conversations around harmful practices and policy reforms that protect women and girls.

SRHR Policy Tracker
On July 8, 2025, SRHR Champions-Liberia launched the SRHR Policy Tracker, a digital tool designed to monitor, document, and report on SRHR interventions in Liberia. Developed with support from Community Healthcare Initiative, the Tracker addresses persistent knowledge gaps by providing timely and accurate information on SRHR policies and direct policy advocacy priorities among civil society and grassroots organizations.
The Tracker provides information on legislative decisions, community-led SRHR conversations, and civil society commitments. It strengthens evidence-based advocacy, promotes legislative accountability, and reduces duplication of efforts in the wake of USAID funding cuts to reproductive healthcare services in Liberia.
Stakeholder Engagement
The launch event, held at Ala Lagune in Monrovia, brought together over 68 stakeholders, including government officials, lawmakers, civil society representatives, youth groups, media, and international partners.
Stakeholders are using the Tracker’s findings to support informed decision-making at institutional and policy levels. The Tracker also supports Liberia’s commitments to addressing discriminatory legislation that undermines SRHR services for all and aligns with the Maputo Plan of Action (2016) and other global frameworks.
