In a wake of continuous policy engagement towards the passage of the Draft Public Health Bill which is at the Liberian Senate (Senate Committee on Health), we have officially launched A SRHR Technical Working Group with high-level national stakeholders, CSOs leaders, as well as policy actors. The Technical Working Group (TWG) will; carry out gaps analysis in public health advocacy among major actors and ensure to foster effective synergies among stakeholders, guide strategic planning and legislative engagement to influence the senate decision for a speedy passage of the draft public health bill, Develop specific and key framed abortion message for media and policy engagement. These messages will be aligned with evidence brief and abortion incidence report both developed by the African Population and Health Research Center. The TWG will ensure to develop and simplify advocacy tool in local Liberian English for awareness and outreach purposes. The Physician Assistant Association of Liberia leads the TWG while the SRHR Champions-Liberia works aS the secretariat of the group. The SRHR Champions-Liberia will conduct each technical working group sessions along with the Liberian Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Gender, children and social protection and Women Rights Defenders.
